The Muncie Indiana Transit system is a great asset to Cardinal Greenways’ users. Whether you want a ride to the Wysor St. Depot to use a bike, need transportation to a greenway, or want to transport your bike to the trail, Muncie Indiana Transit System (M.I.T.S.) takes care of you. Bike racks are available on all buses. Hop on the bus and make Cardinal Greenways your destination for a fantastic time in the great outdoors!

The Prairie Creek Horse Trail is a 2.5 linear trail on the west side of Prairie Creek Reservoir, with a trail head at the Indian Hill area on the county road, CR 475 East. The trail head has a large gravel lot with ample parking for trailers of any size. There are hitching rails and mounting blocks, but no water or toilet facilities. Overnight camping is available for horse trailers with self-contained toilets. Please note: the equestrian trails are located on the west side of the reservoir. Horses are not permitted along the multi-use trail or hiking/biking trails located on the south and southeast side of the reservoir.
When you reach the end of the trail, you can return to the trail head or proceed to the Cardinal Greenways Horse Trail. A 300-yard road crossing takes riders to the Red Tail Conservancy area. After crossing the asphalt trail, riders may go north or south on the Cardinal Greenways horse trail.
Cardinal Greenways Horse Trail is a 3.5 mile linear trail, primarily wooded with modest hills and one water crossing. The trail is currently open from CR 500 South to CR 534 East.
Medford Trail Head (County Road 500 South) has ample room for trailers, with a looped gravel lot. There are hitching rails, a mounting step, and toilet facilities but no water dispenser.
A round trip from Prairie Creek Horse Trail to Cardinal Greenways Horse Trail is approximately 10 miles. Both trails are maintained solely by volunteers.
