CG Maintenance Staff
Fine Men at Work
Steve Abshire, Cardinal Greenways’ Director of Maintenance and Facilities takes care of almost 70 miles of trail with the help of Jacob Houck, BSU graduate student. It’s a BIG job, but our CG maintenance guys do a great job. Steve and Jacob recently finished spraying invasive plants along the entire trail, while doing the usual mowing, trimming trees, removing debris, blowing off the trail, and keeping up with the many unexpected jobs that come their way each day.
Steve is always looking for good maintenacnce volunteers. If you like being outside, using tools, driving a truck, feeling good, and making Cardinal Greenways look even better, please let us know. If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, please take the leap. We need you today!
Candy Corn Confection
According to the National Confectioners Association’s 2013 consumer survey of 1,135 adults nationwide, people have a preference how to eat candy corn. They discovered 42.7% start with the narrow white end, 10.6% start with the wider yellow end, and 46.8% eat the whole piece at once. Here’s our own discovery: it you mix candy corn with peanuts, it’s absolutely delicious!
